Eligibility / Rules

Eligibility
The 2010 competition is open to citizens of the Commonwealth, including the UK, and former Commonwealth countries up to and including the age of 30 on 2 June 2010.

Ensembles
There are two ensemble awards:
A: Strings, Piano and Strings, Piano duo/duet
B: Wind, Percussion, mixed Ensembles

The majority of the members of a chamber ensemble must be citizens of the Commonwealth, including the UK, and former Commonwealth countries.  The age limit for all ensemble members is 30 as at 2 June 2010.  Violin and piano, viola and piano, cello and piano duos are NOT eligible for the Ensemble section, but are eligible for the Strings section.

Accompanists
Accompanists are not provided, but can be recommended. Candidates should ensure that their accompanist is of a high professional standard. Accompanists may be of any age or nationality; however, only citizens of the Commonwealth up to and including the age of 30 on 2 June 2010 will be considered for the Accompanists Award.

Competition Rules
The Director of ROSL ARTS' decision to accept or refuse an entry is final. The decision of the adjudicating panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The adjudicators reserve the right to withold any prize should the required standard not be attained.

Once a competitor has won a prize in the competition, they are not eligible for that prize in a subsequent year.  Previous winners of the main solo awards are not eligible to enter the competition as soloists again.  

ROSL ARTS reserves the right to allow any stage of the Annual Music Competition to be recorded, broadcast or televised.

Candidates must be available for ALL relevant audition dates.

Once a competition entry has been accepted, no alteration to the submitted programme will be permitted.
