As the ideal candidate you are creative, enthusiastic, articulate, and methodical and possess the following qualities and qualifications:
Essential
- Educated to degree level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including imaginative copy-writing & accurate proof-reading
- Keen demonstrable interest in and knowledge of at least two of the art forms in which ROSL ARTS operates: classical music, visual arts & literature
- Ability to develop marketing strategies
- Highly developed IT skills in: MS Office, Macs, and ideally Quark Express & Adobe Photoshop
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise within a wide range of diverse tasks
- Hands-on approach and willingness to participate as part of a small team in all aspects of ROSL ARTS
Desirable
- experience of marketing in a similar small-scale organisation or marketing qualification
- experience of working as part of a small team in a fast-paced office environment
- working knowledge of the classical music industry
- ability to read music
Job Description
Key responsibilities
- creative development and implementation of marketing strategies for the work of ROSL ARTS, and seeing those strategies through to successful completion
- maintenance and development of the ROSL ARTS marketing, mailing and email database
- co-ordination of all advertising for ROSL ARTS, the scholarship schemes and the ROSL Annual Music Competition
- responsibility for print and publicity material: incl. Music Competition brochure, concert programmes, season brochures, Friends newsletter
- updating and maintaining the ROSL ARTS website
- proactive research and development of relationships with potential new collaborators
- liaison with graphic designers and printers
- copy for ROSL ARTS pages in Overseas, the ROSL’s quarterly journal
- co-ordination and production of publicity material for the Monday Platform series at Wigmore Hall (ROSL ARTS is currently one of four co-promoters).
- co-ordination of mailings and distribution of print materials and Friends newsletters
- press releases, listings, handling of press enquiries
- organisation of photography for ROSL events
Additional responsibilities
- assist with front of house/stage management for all ROSL ARTS events
- assist with the installation of exhibitions
Salary and Benefits
The salary for the post is £20,000 per annum. There are 20 days holiday per year. After passing three months probation you are eligible for a Season Ticket Loan. After one year’s service you are eligible to join the ROSL’s private health care and pension schemes.
Working hours are 10am-6.00pm 5 days a week. Regular evening and occasional weekend work is required and is reflected in the salary. There are no overtime payments, but time off may be given in lieu.
